Fairfax County Crime Solvers, in a partnership with Capital Area Runners, is pleased to present the 2nd Annual Crime Solvers 5k!

Course:
NEW FOR 2014 - This 5k is a USATF-certified course (certification pending - draft map located HERE) starts and finishes at Fairfax County Government Center, and runs on the surrounding roads.

Kids Fun Run:
There will be a free kid's fun run following the 5k at 8:45 AM. The Kid's Fun Run is for children age 10 and under. An adult may also register to accompany a young child at no cost. Please note, each individual participant must have their own registration and bib number.

Results/Timing:
The race will be chip timed by raceDCTiming.com. Results will be posted to their results page race day. Runners must wear the chip assigned to them to be timed.

Race Photos:
Free race photos will be available for download at YoungRunnerPhotos.com, home to Capital Area Runners photos and more.

Race SWAG:
5k runners will receive a technical race tee, with the race logo on the front. Runners must pre-register to guarantee their Crime Solvers 5k race shirt. Packet Pick-up & Race Day registration race tee availability on first come, first serve basis.

About Fairfax County Crime Solvers:

Fairfax County Crime Solvers is a community-oriented program involving citizens, the business community, news media and the Fairfax County Police Department working together in the fight against crime. The Crime Solvers Board is comprised of a group of citizens who pay cash rewards for information leading to the arrest and indictment of any person or persons who commit crimes in Fairfax County or to the capture of a wanted person. Crime Solvers is not run by the Fairfax County Police Department.

Crime Solvers is a non-profit organization which relies solely on donations from local businesses and private citizens. No tax dollars are used for rewards. In short, Crime Solvers depends on you for the funds to pay those who provide the information that helps Crime Solvers fight crime!

Since the program began in October 1979, information received through Crime Solvers has led to the arrest of almost 800 criminals, including more than 200 fugitives, and the closure of more than 1,700 crimes, which include murders, rapes, robberies and burglaries. Over $3,291,585 in stolen property and illegal narcotics has been recovered.

About Capital Area Runners:

Capital Area Runners (CAR) is a DC metropolitan area club that was founded to provide group training opportunities for highly motivated and competitive minded runners of all ability levels. We meet for organized workouts 6 days per week with the Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday sessions open to all comers, and the Tuesday, Thursday and Friday sessions open to registrants in the CAR Distance Training Program.
