At the Monument Avenue 10k (with fewer monuments than past years) Ramin Shaheedian led our CAR finishers in 37:58, followed by Matt Purdin in 40:10 and Kristin Roberts in 43:43. I have not yet seen official results, but Jessica Chin Somers ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon in about 1:34:00. In HS track action, Marisa Poe and Callie Wallace had very busy weeks. At Wednesday’s Saints Track and Field Showcase, Marisa finished 4th in the 800m in 2:30.92 (PR) and 8th in the 400m in 1:06.69 (PR) and Callie finished 4th in the 1600m in 5:39.97 (PR; previous best 5:53.64) and 8th in the 800m in 2:37.49 (PR). At Saturday’s Trojan Invitational at Gaithersburg HS, Marisa won the 3200m in 11:35.03 (PR) and was 3rd in the 1600m in 5:19.48 (PR) and Callie was 8th in the 1600m in 5:36.77 (PR) and 12th in the 800m in 2:40.01. Callie knocked almost 17 seconds off her 1600m PR in the past week! Congrats to all!
